INAUGURATION OF THE WORLD TEMPLE

The day began like no other here at Aurovalley with the birds chirping and an early rise for morning meditation but on December 12, 2012 there was an air of anticipation and excitement that filled the air which was hard not to notice. Visitors, guests and students were treated to a special meditation with The Mother's music and hundreds of candles warming the meditation hall while the water and soil from around the world received its first blessing as it lay under the photos of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. It was a day Swamiji and the large family Aurovalley is, had been looking forward to - the inauguration of the World Temple.

The winter chill had eased up that day and the sun was shinning as we all made our way to the World Temple. Decorated with hundreds of flower garlands and dressed with flags which were tirelessly put together by dedicated students, the World Temple was ready to receive the world. A warm welcome of classical Indian music was played by two very talented souls as the ceremony began. A few short and sweet speeches were said before Swamiji took the stage. Swamiji set the tone with his words about the importance of living a conscious life and so followed the day's events resonating with his inspirational words.

The Kadam tree was carried in and planted in the center of the World Temple. Water and soil from different corners of the globe were placed under this tree of life by the many friends, family and special guests of Aurovalley. It was a truly unique site.

A lunch of delicious Indian food was served buffet style with a seating area off to the side of the entrance to the World Temple. This was followed by a special cultural programme which was the perfect way to end the day yet begin a new opportunity to manifest the Supreme Consciousness.

INDIA'S REPUBLIC DAY

Aurovalley celebrated India's Republic day with a beautiful morning ceremony with the school children. Republic Day honours the day India's constitution came into effect which was on January 26, 1950. The national flag was proudly hoisted up and one of the students had the honour of opening up the folded flag which had beautiful flower petals tucked inside. Then the national anthem, Jana Gana Mana, was sung by students, teachers, guests and Swamiji.

DON'T PUT YOUR LIFE IN A PACKET

CATCH THE POINT!

If any seed is in a comfortable place – wrapped up nicely in a packet – what is the future of that seed? It will never break and sprout and it will never grow. It will eventually just die, expire. With the same principle of the seed, nature always tries to break and grow us with various pressures. Whenever you cry and complain just remember that nature is trying to break you. When the seed breaks he cooperates with nature and surrenders himself and then the tree begins to come out and the seed becomes useful. He lives his purpose. If you want your seed to manifest the Divine then don’t give importance to situations where you will be put in a nice, comfortable package.

CATCH THE POINT!

I am light but I am living without light. I am love but I am living without love, I am peace but I am without peace. I am harmony but I am living without harmony, I am joy but I am living without joy. How can I break the cycle of falsehood? That is the point. You can accelerate the process of your evolution. You consciously have to enter into the process of your evolution. We all have that ability. It is only a determination. Just sit quietly and ask what you want or don't want. As soon as you find out then establish that clarity in your consciousness. Then when you make a decision of what you want, anything is possible! (Satsang - January 17, 2013)

We have a specialized library that contains mainly the works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother and topics related to the Integral Yoga. It has a good collection of books on yoga techniques from different schools of yoga and books on philosophy and spirituality. We have a good collection of videos and films that are inspiring and soul touching.

INTEGRAL YOGA COURSES

Aurovalley conducts Integral Yoga Courses of 1, 3 and 6 months as well as yearly courses. The study method is based on each person's process and aspiration. The activities are the same for everyone, but what varies is the personal support that each one can find with Swami Brahmdev or by simply being here. Everyone is encouraged to spend a lot of time in silence and introspection, which is the real teacher.
